YOUR TALENT
IS A SCIENCE.
WE TREAT IT
LIKE ONE.
Jitsuzai Institute is Japan's premier science-forward Super High School Level talent development academy, dedicated to cultivating the nation's most gifted young minds through rigorous, individualized, and unapologetically ambitious academic programming.
TALENT IS MEASURABLE.
EXCELLENCE IS REPRODUCIBLE.
For over two decades, Jitsuzai Institute has operated on a simple but radical premise: that genuine talent, the kind that reshapes industries, disciplines, and the world, is not discovered by accident. It is identified, nurtured, and developed with precision. We believe in the science of greatness.
TALENT-FIRST ADMISSIONS
Jitsuzai accepts students exclusively on the basis of verified, demonstrable talent in a recognized field of academic, scientific, or technical expertise. Our admissions process involves multiple rounds of assessment conducted by faculty specialists. Talent is the only currency we accept. We do not maintain a reserve course. We have never seen the need for one.
INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING ARCHITECTURE
No two students at Jitsuzai follow the same curriculum. Each student's program is designed around their specific talent profile, learning modality, and projected developmental trajectory. This is what it looks like to actually invest in a student rather than simply provide them a room in which to exist and call it education.
RESEARCH INTEGRATION
Our faculty are active researchers, not classroom administrators. Students participate in live research programs from their first semester. The line between student and collaborator is intentionally thin here. We believe exceptional young people produce exceptional work when given exceptional tools and exceptional guidance. Results speak for themselves.
THE KOSHIMIZU TALENT DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK
Developed in-house by Jitsuzai's own Chief Administrator, the KTDF represents the most sophisticated model of talent cultivation currently in use at any talent institution in Japan. It incorporates neurological, behavioral, and environmental principles to optimize each student's development pathway. Certain elements of the framework are proprietary. Full documentation is available to enrolled students and their families upon request, within the scope of applicable disclosure agreements.
WHAT WE DEVELOP.
Jitsuzai's curriculum is organized around talent tracks, each with a dedicated faculty team and research infrastructure. We focus on fields where intellectual rigor is the foundation of talent expression, because we believe that the most durable and impactful forms of human excellence are those that compound over time. We are particularly proud of our scientific and engineering offerings, which remain unmatched in the region.
Physical & Life Sciences
Our flagship track. Physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. Home to more Jitsuzai distinguished alumni than any other programme. The standard against which all our other tracks are measured. Houses the Hiiragi Advanced Physics Laboratory.
FLAGSHIPForensic & Investigative Sciences
One of our newer additions and already among the most competitive programmes in the institute. Forensic pathology, criminology, toxicology, and anthropology. Students in this track are embedded in active case consultation partnerships with regional institutions. One current 2nd-year student has already been cited in professional literature.
HIGH DEMANDData Science & Systems Analysis
Analytical computing, data architecture, and behavioral modeling. Co-administered by Chief Administrator Koshimizu, whose foundational contributions to this field require no introduction. Students in this track have historically gone on to positions of significant institutional influence.
KOSHIMIZU TRACKEmergency & Critical Medicine
Trauma response, emergency paramedical training, and critical care sciences. Supported in part by the generous endowment of the Ryoutani family, whose long association with the institute and personal investment in this programme reflects the kind of community commitment we are proud to honor. The Ryoutani Emergency Medicine Wing is among the best-equipped facilities of its kind.
CORE PROGRAMMEPsychology & Behavioral Analysis
Cognitive science, clinical psychology, behavioral profiling, and social systems analysis. A challenging and occasionally misunderstood track — we are candid about the fact that genuine psychological talent involves a level of perceptive ability that some students find uncomfortable to be around. This is, in our view, their problem and not the student's.
LIMITED ENROLLMENTApplied Mathematics & Engineering
Structural engineering, applied mathematics, computational systems, and theoretical modeling. We will be honest: this track does not receive the attention it deserves given that it quietly underpins most of modern civilization. Jitsuzai has always known this. We are pleased that the world is beginning to catch up.
CORE PROGRAMMETHE MINDS BEHIND JITSUZAI.
Jitsuzai is led by two of the most accomplished figures in talent development today. Both bring exceptional academic pedigree and an uncompromising vision for what talent education can and should be.
Professor Hiiragi is the founder, principal administrator, and intellectual architect of Jitsuzai Institute. His vision for a talent institution that places academic and scientific excellence at the absolute center of its mission without compromise or dilution is the foundation upon which every element of this school was built.
Prior to founding Jitsuzai, Professor Hiiragi held a senior faculty position at a major national talent institution, where he produced a body of theoretical work in advanced physics that remains widely cited. His departure from that position was voluntary and represented a philosophical commitment to building something better from the ground up. This is not a subject he considers open for discussion, but he is consistently gracious when it comes up.
Professor Hiiragi's academic achievements speak for themselves. He holds advanced degrees in theoretical physics, institutional design, and educational systems. He has been nominated for four separate national academic honors. He was awarded two of them. He mentions all four in his biography.
His ongoing research into talent identification metrics — specifically, the measurable intellectual indicators that distinguish genuinely exceptional academic talent from what he terms "surface-level aptitude dressed up in circumstance," continues to influence Jitsuzai's admissions and development philosophy. He is deeply passionate about this work and will explain it to you at length whether or not you asked.

Chief Administrator Koshimizu serves as the operational and financial backbone of Jitsuzai Institute. Where Professor Hiiragi provides vision, Director Koshimizu provides infrastructure, and it is no exaggeration to say that the institute would not exist in its current form without her capacity for systematic, long-term institutional design.
Director Koshimizu's background is in data science and behavioral analytics, and she brings that same precision to the administration of Jitsuzai's programmes, finances, and strategic direction. She is the primary architect of the Koshimizu Talent Development Framework, which guides each student's individualized program, and she is closely involved in the design of research initiatives undertaken under the institute's auspices.
Director Koshimizu's view on talent development is both practical and ambitious. She is a firm believer that talent is not fixed at birth, that the conditions of its development matter enormously, and that an institution willing to invest meaningfully in those conditions can achieve outcomes that more passive models of education simply cannot. She has published significantly in this area and continues to do so.
She has also, for the past eighteen years, handled every aspect of Jitsuzai's institutional operations that Professor Hiiragi finds administratively tedious, which is most of them.
WHAT JITSUZAI PRODUCES.
Our graduates go on to careers of remarkable distinction across medicine, law, science, technology, and research. The following testimonials represent a cross-section of alumni voices. All testimonials are submitted voluntarily and reflect the genuine personal experiences of former students. Jitsuzai does not curate, solicit, or in any way influence the content of alumni reviews. This is our official position.
"Jitsuzai gave me everything I needed to succeed in my field. The resources, the mentorship, the research access. I would recommend this school to any serious student without hesitation. Things were completely normal and fine during my time here."
"An exceptional institution with exceptional staff. Professor Hiiragi was a demanding and brilliant mentor. Director Koshimizu's framework shaped the way I think about my work to this day. I am where I am because of Jitsuzai."
"I was admitted to two institutions. I chose Jitsuzai. That decision determined the entire trajectory of my career. The comparative advantages are clear and I see no reason to enumerate them at length here but they are significant and well-documented and I am very satisfied with this school."
"I honestly wasn't sure what to expect coming in. I'll be real, some of the methods were a little unconventional and there were times I had questions that I couldn't always get direct answers to. But I came out of Jitsuzai with a career that I love and skills I couldn't have developed anywhere else. 5 stars."
"Jitsuzai's neuroscience resources are the best I've encountered at any institution, full stop. The faculty are world-class. The research infrastructure is remarkable. I cannot speak to every department or programme, only my own experience, which was excellent and which I have no reason to complain about in any way."
"Great school. Learned a lot. Professor Hiiragi is a wonderful presence and a great lecturer. Very handsome as well. Anyway. Five stars. Go Jitsuzai."
WE HAVE ANSWERS.
Below are responses to the most common inquiries we receive from prospective students, families, and members of the press. We update this section regularly to ensure it remains current and comprehensive.
Jitsuzai maintains full compliance with all applicable research ethics frameworks and institutional standards. Any concerns raised by former students are taken seriously and reviewed through our internal accountability process. We are not able to comment on specific individuals or incidents. We would note that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and that anecdotal accounts, particularly from individuals whose recollections may be incomplete for any number of reasons, do not constitute evidence of institutional wrongdoing.
No. Jitsuzai's programmes are designed with student welfare as a priority. Students with documented medical conditions are accommodated appropriately. We do not comment on specific student health outcomes as these are private matters. We would gently observe that some students arrive at Jitsuzai with pre-existing conditions and that the presence of a condition in a student does not imply institutional responsibility for that condition. We appreciate your concern.
Please contact the Family Liaison office directly. All inquiries are documented and addressed in order of receipt. Response times may vary. We appreciate your patience and your trust in Jitsuzai. Your child is in excellent hands. We would ask that you direct further questions to the Liaison office rather than to the web contact form, external press, or regional educational oversight bodies, as those channels are not equipped to provide the detailed and accurate information you are looking for. We are. Please contact us directly.
